WNCC Baseball now 1-3 on season

The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team dropped both games of its doubleheader with Barton County Community College Tuesday in Great Bend, Kan.

The Cougars lost a tight 6-5 decision in game one against Barton County before falling 11-3 in game two. WNCC is now 1-3 on the season.

In the first game, WNCC scored four runs in the first inning and one in the second to grab a 5-3. The Cougars couldn't hold the lead as as the Kansas Cougar team scored the g0-ahead and winning run in the sixth for the win.

WNCC pounded out a season high 11 hits in game two and led 2-0 early. But, then Barton County went on a tear, scoring nine runs in the second inning for a commanding 9-2 lead.

WNCC is scheduled to host Miles Community College in a doubleheader at Cleveland Field on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
